Blizzard Announces Model Updates: Druids First (10 Comments)

And there was much rejoicing!

First – the supporting posts from Blizzard here and here.

The points that we find most interesting:

  • You will utilize the barber shop to change your druid’s looks.
  • So far, only bear and cat form updates have been announced.

However, we can’t help but hope for updates to everything that Blizzard can easily update in the game, as they find the resources: crit chicken, tree of laugh, seel form, shaman wolf and priest shadowform, just to name a few.

While we’re at it, we suggest the following are made so that they come with a choice of various looks for the player:

  • Succubus
  • Paladin charger
  • Void walker
  • Jaina Proudmore

What would you like to see Blizzard update and offer a choice of looks on next?

Is Bloodlust Mandatory? (8 Comments)

Four posters who lead off this thread in the WoW forums insist that Bloodlust is mandatory for raiding: to the degree that if you’ve got 25 people and no shaman, someone is going to have to sit out to make room for the bearer of the Bloodlust.

We cannot decide whether or not we agree.  On the one hand, we’re pretty sure that the two-dozen people with whom we raid can easily take down any boss without a shaman popping Bloodlust.  On the other hand, the timing of Bloodlust and insistence that it be used during every boss fight (and on trash mobs every time it’s available, when more than 10 minutes from a boss fight) is singular.  There is no other spell that is called-for by a raid leader in every boss fight without fail like this one.

What do you think?

Watch Obsidian Draw Randydeluxe’s Character Live Today

It’s the Commissioned.com Commissionathlon 2009, and erstwhile Extralife Radio co-host and artist extraordinaire Obsidian is broadcasting the proceedings live!  You can watch along (and probably learn a lot about drawing, as Obsidian is a wonderful teacher) here.

The point of Obsidian’s Commissionathlon is to raise money for his upcoming trip to the United States (Obsidian lives and works in Columbia.)  If you like what you see, you should consider commissioning some of his work.  It’s very rewarding.

Big News Of The Week

Blizzard Sells 10,000 Blizzcon Tickets In About 15 Seconds

It was bound to be a quick ride, but we never dreamed it would be that quick. Blink and you missed it. Blizzard put their first batch of tickets to Blizzcon 2009 on sale Saturday morning via the Blizzard Store, and flexed the muscle of their new queue system for ticket sales, and it was like The Flash vs. Superman. Potential buyers of tickets got into a queue that was much longer than it needed to be to sell-out… in seconds. We were there.

If you didn’t get a ticket to Blizzcon, you might be able to win one from one of the many WoW fansites that Blizzard has set up for contests.

Rumors And Scuttlebutt

The Equipment Manager Hits The Scene

Version 3.1.2 of World Of Warcraft went live this week, and brought the Equipment Manager with it.
-This is also the patch that changed vehicle armor and damage to scale with your gear.
-And Lake Wintergrasp is now a weekly set of quests.
-Speaking of the Equipment Manager…

Back In My Day, We Hit Things With Sticks!

We rarely, seldomly, only occasionally, almost never suggest that you visit the world of warcraft official forums. They’re bad for your health. But every once in a while, a thread comes along that makes the whole place shine. And that has happened just today, with a thread started by Reziel from the Bonechewer realms, entitled “/equip rose colored glasses”. Therein, he asks posters to do something very simple: “Tell a story for the new players that idealizes classic wow, and makes it sound like the best thing since sliced bread.” And the responses are classic.

I’ve been looking to get into RPing somewhere and was curious if you could point me to a website or somewhere which might help me a little bit with the basics of this. I enjoy WoW a lot but am looking to have a little bit different playstyle rather then just PvP PvE and ETC.

It’s Like Water, Only Way, Way Better

In case you missed it, Mountain Dew went live this week with their World of Warcraft-themed Game Fuel extravaganza on the web. We kind of missed it. But no more missing! We’ve got the link for you to go register, pick a faction… scratch that… choose the Horde faction, and start earning points and, hopefully, win some prizes!

Blizzcon 2009 Tickets Are On Sale Today (6 Comments)

First and foremost, here’s the link you might be looking for.

We couldn’t help but notice this from the FAQ on Blizzard’s Blizzcon site:

You will have up until Saturday, June 13 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time to make any changes to attendee badge information in Battle.net Account Management. After this point, no further changes can be made. If you have not entered any information by this time, all attendee names will default to the full name of the Battle.net account holder.

Translation: You have one month to sell any tickets that you buy, and change the name on them to the new owner.  If you thought ticket sales weren’t going to be driven by a bit of speculation this year, think again.  $500 Blizzcon tickets will be on eBay tonight!

Update: much-higher-than$500 Blizzcon tickets are already on eBay!

See Randydeluxe’s position in the ticket queue when tickets sold out here.  Note: Randydeluxe got into the queue in the first few seconds that tickets went on sale.
