That’s a very rare mount, and one of the least likely to obtain.  Players who are trying to fly in headless style are up against these odds: the mount is a 1% drop chance, from a (very easy) 5-man boss, that each person in the party can pull separately once per day.  So you can participate in as many pulls per day as people are willing to share with you, but you’ll have to roll against the others in the party if it drops.  And if you do five pulls per day for all 14 days of Hallow’s End, you still only have a 70% chance of seeing it drop.  Once.

  3. The mount would be pretty cool, but I’m really just hoping to get a Squashling this year. I was pretty disappointed last year when I didn’t get it on any of my toons. :( Oh well /pray haha

  4. I didn’t get the mount last year, but did receive the Helm. I still like to equip in once awhile, lough the Hallo laugh, to funnny.

  5. We have a very small guild made up of a tight-knit group of friends that all know eachother’s playing style and will dedicate literally hours to another guildy that needs help with a task. We make it a point to be as supportive and unified as possible and we have all bee running HH together hoping one of us will get the mount.

    that is until the complete noob of a sloppy hunter (that nobody really ever liked anyway) just waltzed in and snagged the horse on his first HH run. now it’s every man, woman and child for themself…complete pandemonium. todays guild chat has made me turn on the mature language filter for the first time in 3 years of WOW.

  6. Yah I’m definately going to try for the mount – I’m not normally the one to do holidy-based runs, but lets face it… the mount is pretty bad ass.

  7. I got to see it the first day…didnt win it though…all i really want are the pet and helmet, so far, no luck…a grunty would be AWESOME though >.>

  8. I just hit 80 the other day (on my priest) and this boss is a breeze to heal through dropped a nice healing ring (even though it has mp5 instead of spirit) but I have yet to see this mount drop. The cool thing about this mount is it scales with riding skill so if you have flying (225 or 300) riding skill it can be the equivelent of a regular or epic flying mount in outland and northrend.

  12. I didnt get the mount last year but i got the squashling pet in a trick or treat bag on my alt, still wish it was on my main though :( Love the show guys, keep it up :)

  14. My luck with drops is sad. I doubt I’ll be landing one of these bad-boys anytime soon.

  18. My girl and i got this mount last year, so we are running ours friends through it to get it for them(less people to roll verses). I say, Good luck to anyone who is trying to go after this mount, even though it is a bit buggy some times. :)

  19. My main just (finally!) dinged 70 last night and, since I don’t have WotLK yet, that was pretty cool. I’ve probably used up all my WoW luck there, but have been enjoying the holidays this month all the same!

  20. I’m an achievment hunter and I just got my Violet Proto Drake from Hallow’s End and this Grunty marine would help me a lot to getting the vanity pets achievments

    Failing that i want the Helm, and failing that, i want the Sqaushling the the other helm so i can get the damn title lol

  24. I dont have the mount yet. But I got a broom for 2 of my chracters, and 2 pets and a helm from trick or treating. But I log in on 7 characters whenever I can… =P

  25. That mount has not drop for me for 4 years of playing this game, however i did get the pet :D , Hopefully i can get the mount as well to complete the set :( , well guys awesome show, I’ll be listening !!! :D

  27. I got really lucky last year and got the drop for this. It was really cool, since it was the first speed adaptable mount that I saw in game. So cool to fly with it and use it in the old world too. I would certainly like to get Murky, he’s quite the armored fish man.

  30. This is my second year trying to get the reins. I am really motivated and trying to get in as many groups as possible.

  31. The reins would be sweet, hope i get enough time to play and by chance get the drop…..its a nice thought…..a better one at the moment would be to get Grunty…..

  33. I’ll be running this boss a lot, but I’m not hoping for the mount to drop, just the pet and the helm for the achievement. As cool as a flying horse would be, I can settle for the proto drake.

  39. I didn’t have access to a computer this year so I missed Brewfest so you can bet I’ll be going after the headless wonder every day. Plus, this holiday had me at “(very easy) 5-man boss.” That is where I’m most effective.

  42. I killed the headless horseman every day last year during this event. It hurt when I saw it drop once and my roll was like 5. Also I love Grunty.

  43. I stayed up with a guildie who has been 3-years trying for the Sinister Squashling, and on our first HH attempt, the mount dropped and I won it. It’s a pretty cool mount.

    Now, grunty please.

  45. I want to get the mount since this is my first time able to fight the HH so I hope I get the mount. I love in game pets and Grunty looks like a cool pet.
