Big News Of The Week
Starcraft 2 Beta Makes All The Girls Squee
Blizzard used their Facebook page this week to announce that a lucky few will be beta testing Starcraft 2 before the end of this month. And there are really only two weeks left in this month! How cool is that?
In the Activision quarterly earnings call this week, Mike Morhaime confirmed that Cataclysm will be released in 2010. Many analysts noted that it has been 12 years since Blizzard released two games in the same year. We noticed that Blizzard has only released three new titles in the last 6.5 years.

The most-pink yearly holiday in-game is going on right now, and it has been freshened up.
Rumors And Scuttlebutt
Blizzard May Or May Not Have Changed Course, Maybe
Players have often wondered whether Blizzard was binding themselves too tightly to getting the Cataclysm expansion released by mid-year, in light of their statement that the most recent content via patch 3.3 would be the last major content added to the game before the next expansion. Well this week on the official forums, in a thread entitled “3.3.2 – Where next?”, Zarhym said,
We do have some additional PvE and PvP content and changes we plan to implement prior to the release of the big Cataclysm patch and subsequent retail release of that third expansion. We’ll be discussing these new features in more detail in the coming weeks.
Just How Plushy Are We Talkin’?
And is there a such thing as too plushy? The Pet Store is about to find out! Introducing the Wind Rider Cub and Gryphon Hatchling, the first in a new line of cuddly, crafty critters scheduled to arrive exclusively in the online Blizzard Store in the weeks ahead. Each plush companion will come with a code for a matching in-game, non-combat, account-bound pet to fly by your side in Azeroth. Both Horde and Alliance players will be able to adopt either pet once they hatch in the online Blizzard Store. Keep your eyes on the sky — and the official World of Warcraft website — for more information.

Ok, on achievements, wouldn’t it be cool if the “ambassador” title allowed you to walk through opposing faction cities and not get flagged…..at least until you ganked the king. Or if the “elder” title gave you a discount(old man) on food and drink…..just thinking.
My phoenix hatch-ling flys with me all over the place, its my favorite pet
aye, the old school “flying” pets don’t fly with you, ie Red Whelpling (and sadly the ‘copied’ Frost Wyrm et al won’t), but any new one will, ie Tickbirds.
Did anyone else notice that at the begining of the show Scott said “On this episode of ELR..” ?
heya great show guys as always , question, whats the name of the song thats on after you guys have finished the show, it was straight after the “hand lotion, basket ” thing

A bit disappointed that the World First Arthas kill wasn’t mentioned in Big News of The Week :/
Otherwise great show
In regards to achievements coming up for little things like completing a dungeon, I’ve been playing WoW since before Burning Crusade and the birth of the achievements. I find some of them amusing just because they exist and some of the ones that I have received I never expected. For the record, I have just recently reached level 57 and have not completed any of the new dungeons (since Burning Crusade) or battlegrounds.

yer i heard that too, i downloaded it after reading the comment scott made on extralife and it kinda got me confused, plz explain??
lol?
Couple comments.
1. The SFK is the same whether you have quest or not. There is no need to do any pre-quests to be able to “summon” the trio — the actual daily quest is inside the instance. Even my lvl 18 alt had those alchemists inside.
2. There are non-combat pets that will actually fly with you (i.e. the protodrake hatchling, and some other WotLK bird-pets). But the thing is that they are much slower than 310% (or maybe even 280%) mount that they won’t be able to keep up and simply disappear.
Great show, as always. KUTGW.
Also, about the Lich King cinematic.
No, your character does not need to progress in any way to be able to see the cinematic. It’s a server-wide progression. As soon as somebody kills Arthas on your server, you just go to the fountain in the middle of Dalaran, click on one of the “memorial pads” (not sure how these things called in English) and watch the cinemtaic.
