Everyone Is Talking About The New Store Items

Blizzard surprised us on Thursday with the release of the Celestial Steed in-game mount and the Lil’ XT companion pet, as purchasable items in the Blizzard store. The Celestial Steed is a starry supernatural horse that sprouts wings in Outland and Northrend, and flies at +310% of your run speed, if you already have a 310-mount. ‘Lil XT is a miniature version of that memorable Ulduar boss – XT-002 Deconstructor.

Vashj’ir Looks Wet

It’s a level 78–82 zone coming in Cataclysm where players will be called to explore the depths of the Great Sea and stop the naga from seizing immeasurable power from the realm of Neptulon the Tidehunter. This expansive underwater zone will feature an unprecedented fight for survival against the naga overwhelming the area, several new quest hubs — including Alliance and Horde naval ships and submarines — all-new underwater travel and combat mechanics, several pocketed undersea caves free from water’s grip, two new five-player dungeons (Throne of the Tides and Abyssal Maw), and the first-ever opportunity to explore the remains of the once-majestic city of Vashj’ir!

Would Blizzard Alter The Level 40 Gear Switch?

A poster named Tamryel delivered a veritable manifesto on the subject of changing the way players consider gear for their lower-level characters, and got an interesting response from Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street a couple of days ago. Tamryel’s complaint was that

loot drama is something that this game has far too much of and should be limited,

and his suggestion was that Blizzard do two things differently: make the armor type a class wears at endgame the armor type they wear at level 1, and prevent each class from equipping a different armor type.

    P.S. I hope you guys don´t mind I do live in Europe, but I DO play on a US server. No, I´m not saying that to just get that code. I do know all too well that US codes often do not work on EU accounts and vice versa. Why I´m playing on a US account? I got more US friends that play WoW and European ones, because you guys are more fun ;) .

  5. Great show guys. I couldn’t help but notice what Randy said about his talent text file. There’s a great addon called Talented. It’s used for storing all of your different specs. You can still only use two, but it keeps a database of all of your specs so you don’t have to keep a separate list somewhere. Worth a look!

I saw another post mentioning it, but it’s worth seconding that there’s an addon version of the Elitist Armory called Elitist Group (which came before the site) that lets you audit people quickly in-game. I tend to use both, depending on the situation; the website can be trouble when people don’t logout in their raid gear.

  11. They can pull off a fun underwater zone. Then an underwater BG. Heck submerge WG. LoL, I’m probably the only one who would enjoy that.

Great show, all i can say is that, i was the first caller, and i think you may had misunderstood my name (Schont, ya, its weird) as me saying “shaman”, if it was just for an example, im sorry for going back at this. I am actually a warlock, so the talk about other dps/tank/heal changing, there not alot of options there for a pure dps class :( . BUT i have taken what you said about leveling up to 30ish to see how you really like the class, and its really helped me taking up druid healing. Love the show, hope i win the game time :D

  31. I couldn’t agree more…I hate being underwater. I play a warrior, so trying to get into melee range and NOT being above or below your target is a battle in itself.

  43. GearScore is amazing. It lets me know in two glances (the other one at Recount) if a given player really is /that bad./

    Out of curiosity, Earthen Ring being a PvP server, how often (if ever) do you see RP occurring?

  47. Love the show, you make playing so much more efficient and fun. Also, I think the question about where will you be camping might have been in reference to where in WOW will you be waiting? What if you are in an area that has been destroyed or is now level 85?
