Epic is the only word good enough to describe this.
agreed i wonder if anyone will complain about the TV commercial because pearl harbor happened on December 7th and that was a cataclysmic event. thoughts?
Brilliant!
Amazing intro. So now, we have the release date, and NOW we have the trailer…what does that leave them to reveal at Blizzcon this year? New IP, perhaps Diablo III is farther along than we thought….
meh…nice scenic buildings, would have liked to see the worgen and the goblins. The “Trap Jaw” Dragon is kinda a dumb idea.
Really nice, but i hope blizzard starts working on Warcraft 4, when they are done whit everything else…
oooooohhhhh boy… awesome stuff, as always!!
Eh, I wasn’t too impressed with this. On one hand, blizzard does have their usual touch when it comes to designing cinematics – Detail and life everywhere. No doubt that this is apparent in the video. Blizzard also went above and beyond improving their CGI videos once again. However, I am saddened to say that I got what I expected. I had predicted the video would have been “A dragon flying around” and guess what? Blizzard could have done so much more with this and made this so much more impressive, I think they just took the easy route.
This is just epic,amazing,fantastic and… late ?
Why it is epic ? First of all the design, they clearly did a good job making the zones look like what they do in game. Secondly the music, really the music is the biggest reason this trailer is so awesome, it honestly felt i didnt watch the game trailer but a trailer of the upcoming Warcraft movie.
And why did i say it was late ? Well, by this time we could all imagine that the trailer was going to be about the fierce dragon that spits fire like it have swallowed a can of chili’s, i think most of us would want to see something about the races instead of the zone tearing. but every expansion movie blizzard have made for WoW has been about that last boss fight you do untill the next trailer for the next expansion hits the net.
Anyway i would of course love to hear Scotts,Randy and Henry’s thoughts on this, and maybe talk about some of the things i said
All in all its a epic trailer with a taste of chili pepper!
I have to say if Blizzard ever gets tired of the video game line (and really it’s just a passing fad. lol) they could make a killing as an animation house.
The intro was epic though it doesn’t compare with WotLK intro. That one had poetry and a great juxtaposition between a father’s loving words to his son and a villain raising an undead monster. This is more “I broke it. Yeah. What are you going to do about it!”
That said, I can’ be made about a dragon raining destruction on all we know that is familiar in Azeroth. I especially like how the dragon ends up where the dragon head usually hangs in SW. Consider the black dragonflight avenged.
i agree with batallion… now what are they gonna give us at blizzcon?… something even more awesome?
I did call in on this one. Again, it was like the roller coaster effect for me. I didn’t quite make it to the top. Even when it was over, it still left me with anticipation rather than the exciting rush you get when you plunge down that first drop. I was left hanging on the incline of the tracks.
High expectations… or course. That’s always the case. You have to learn to beat it. And it was predictable in knowing about the fearless dragon flying around causing mayhem, which is okay cause that’s expected.
Blizzard spent too much time awakening the dragon. Not enough destruction and in that, not enough destruction where you get to see the races and other wild life (reactions maybe). That was the big miss right there. Everyone wants to see the races, because the last one we didn’t, and we’re ready for it again. They could have gone without the overly drawn out and redundant voice over. Too much “pain, rage, burn” etc…. all means the same thing.
My only advice… games and movies are different. If you’re creating a trailer relative to what you would see for a movie, then you (Blizzard) need a to hire a film director with the knowledge for story flow and content, and a film editor.
At any rate, it was a tie with the last trailer. The first two trailers are still the best.
I was starting to doubt they’d give us a proper CGI trailer we deserve. I was wrong! This is the most epic thing I have ever seen! I had to watch it twice because I couldn’t take it all in the first time! Don’t understand why it wasn’t released on blizzcon, or maybe kept a secret for when peeps start up the game when it’s released, but I’m not complaining!
Hey wart, they need the trapdoor mouth because it marks the entrance to an instance: The Deathwing raid; he’s so massive you gotta wait until he’s sleeping, sneak into the instance in his mouth and kill him from the inside out. As you navigate his body, you fight each organ as an individual boss. But really.. they need to change the mechanics of fighting dragons instead of enlarging the circular attack range to kill them. Hope they do something cool and new with dragon fights in cata.
Okay, Scott/Randy… that’s two in two weeks… please, please, please, PLEASE predict that there’s no way in hell that Blizzard will drop the price of Cataclysm to $5.
Well naah…
Still didn’t get me fired enough as the TBC one did…
For me personally its TBC -> WoTLK -> This one here…
