Archaeology Might Make You Some Money
In the forthcoming patch 4.0.6, it looks like Blizzard is increasing the vendor sale value of pretty much everything you create with Archaeology. In some cases, we’re hearing about value increases of 20 times the current, and in some cases, up to 80 or 100 times current values!
The Tol Barad Tidbits Keep On Comin’
Blizzard added something very interesting to the latest patch notes on this forthcoming bundle of joy. Specifically, attacking forces will receive a 200% capture speed bonus when they control 2 keeps, and defending forces will receive a 200% capture speed bonus when they control all 3 keeps. Double rainbow all the way across the sky! What does this mean?

What to do when you’re prepared to tank, and don’t know how to get started? We’ve gotten loads of e-mails the last couple of weeks like the following one: Sorlin said “I’ve done my research and now the only thing I have left to do is customize my UI. What mods should I get, what websites should I visit or what general things (like a threat bar) should I have to make me a better Tank.”
- -First of all, we want to address the tank’s big needs from his or her UI. You need to immediately target any of the mobs you’re fighting, be warned when you lose aggro, see what debuffs are on the target, what defensive cooldowns are have available, active, or on cooldown, and their remaining time, know information about the current boss, and review your group’s performance during and after a fight.
- Here are the mods that you want to acquire and master to accomplish all that: Tidyplates, PowerAuras, Deadly Boss Mods, and Recount. Perhaps Skada, if you don’t like Recount.
- Our buddy Ravanna showed us this macro:
/cast [mod:alt] Heroic Leap; [mod:ctrl] Intervene; [mod:shift] Intercept; Charge

We’re all gonna miss you buddy, but all good things must end eventually. I still can’t believe it’s happening – I can’t really imagine The Instance without the deep smooth tones from Mr Deluxe. The amount of alts, levels, dailies, and BGs I have ground out over the years (not to mention the sick days I have taken off from work just so I can tune in from Australia) while listening to the both of you is immeasurable. Hope you have a blast with your new employer.

I don’t really know what to do now. Randy you are the best. Scott, make sure to find someone with the time to invest and depth of knowledge that Randy brought to the show. To people who think that Scott doesn’t know anything, listen to the format of the show. If both hosts played the “knowledgeable informative type” then the show would not be interesting. It is the format of the show for Scott to ask Randy questions. Scott clearly is well versed in WOW as well as other many other topics that he podcasts on. If you don’t like them…don’t listen to them….just stop QQing in here. Goto the wow forums please.
I’ve only known the Instance as Randy & Scott, you both have made it a personal favorite. Randy you will be missed, but I’m excited for your new opportunities and excited to meet the new host coming soon!

What can I say about Randy leaving? Well I have listened to this show for a very long time and I have always looked forward to each and every episode. As strange as it might sound I feel a real loss even though i have never met the man in person. Its kind of like when a tv show that you loved finally goes off the air and that hour block of time now seems void. I am very happy for you and I cant thank you enough for all the laughs over the years. Scott, good luck finding someone to fill this void and i hope to have a new sense of excitement for the new show that will move forward.
Wow roguetonowhere, just wow. Really? wow! Yes you are entitled to you’re opinion of course, but there entitled to your view, and just being rude. Noone’s saying Scott is perfect (noone is), and yes his sense of humor may not suit everyone. I suspect however it suits a great many more people than you do.

I’ve been listening to The Instance since episode 1 and I felt the same then when Scot was alone as I do now. If history has anything to say about it, we will have another great co-host and the show will live on. Thank you Randy for all your insight. I may have never had the honor of joining AIE as I am already a member of a great Alliance guild; but you will truly be missed. Take care and may God bless you and your family in the bright future you have ahead of you. I wish i was more active in the forums but my work schedule and family life limit the time i can spend on the computer so i choose to spend it playing wow.
