Big News of the Week
You can be exalted…just like grandpa used to.
“After a player-base melt down of catalclysmic proportions over the last couple of weeks, Blizzard has decided to back down from their decision to devalue the Exalted Title. Bashiok tells the tale…
“”Recently we changed ‘the Exalted’ title to require 50 exalted titles up from 40, which meant those that had achieved it were now asked to get 10 more reputations to gain the title back. We felt this kept the title as a difficult reward given the additional reputations introduced with Cataclysm, and also avoided the problem of achievement inflation as the game continues to grow, devaluing the reward.” Read it all right here.
Times, they are a changing…in raiding.
“4.0.6 brought all sorts of goodies to the table last week, ranging from the usual bug fixes, dungeon tweaks, and gear tuning. But we don’t care so much about that stuff.
The patch drove into town with all kinds of class and spec tweaks, we just couldn’t look away. So without further ado, lets peal back the onion and see what’s inside! The new king of the DPS hill is… Shadow Priests. Read the rest here.
We read a bunch of your tweets about what you dislike the most about 4.0.6.
WoW and SC theme park happening in China, without Blizzard involvement
Just when you thought you might never see a theme park based on the imaginative IP’s of Blizzard Entertainment, along comes the worlds second largest economy to save the day, and pirate everything! China is building a Blizzard Theme Park! SHHHH! Don’t tell Morhiem! Here and here.

Pingback: Tweets that mention The Instance Podcast - #218 – The Instance: Lady Asswhisperer -- Topsy.com
EPIC Episode! Looking forward to the new Cast, they both did great! The English guy sounds like Russel Brand! Which is AWESOME!
The new team is probably the best replacement for Randy that I could ever imagine. I continue to lament the loss of Randy, but I’m now pretty stoked for the new era!
Gey guys, the Show sounds great! I’m going to miss randy on second char. But Mark and Dills are to great guys, and I can’t wait to hear the up and coming shows.
I am going to miss Randy on the Show, however, the new lineup for the show is fantastic. I love listening to Turpster talking about WoW. I missed listening to him since the end of his tenure on the WoW Insider podcast. Also, new Fletcher bumpers at Full of win.
Oh Great show !
Absolutely loved the new format with 3 people..
Keep it up !
Randy was like the sun in the morning and the stars on a clear night. But he’s dead to me now. This first show with the new group was awesome. What a relief.
After the announcement of second (and third) chairs last week I was excited at where the show was heading and this weeks episode has not disappointed! Great shows guys; I’m looking forward to many, many more episodes with this crew!
Great show! Really enjoyed it, very lively. Kept up to the standard of The Instance. The new Town Crier bumper is great. Can’t tel the same for the other ones.
Please for the love of god ditch Turpster
I know criticisms from people on the internet is probably the lowest form of criticism.
But I agree with Woody. I know Turpster is a cool guy irl probably but this new podcast is essentially the Scott and Turpster show. And Turpster is only funny in small small bits. I was really hoping Dill would balance him out but it doesn’t seem to be the case.
The show had jumped he sharp with RANDY his ulterior motives and retarded comments. Now, it is good and as long as the hosts dont step on each other too much it will again be a success!

Dills is cool. Turpster is a big fan of himself apparently, I just wish his cackle of a laugh wasn’t so annoying.
I miss Randy, basically, sorry.
Get over it, Randy is gone
This is the age of Turpster
I am going to blame it on the new bumpers.
First one – OK, never really like any of the news of the week ones anyway
Second one – Sucks, Nothing against Scott Fletcher, but the old one actually had a scene in it. The new one is just Fletcher reading the old one (and not very well) and then a yell at the end. Plus the music in the old one was better and more, well, WoW. I’m not saying bring back the old one, but the new one just doesn’t cut it.
Third one – Pretty good (the music is better) but I like scott’s accent in the old one
Hehe…you guys and the new bumper comments. Kills me.
Trying to remember the last time people hated the bumpers. Oh yeah! That would be when I replaced the original ones.
Circle of life. I can always count on the Internet to do one thing: Have a memory limited to about 365 days max.
Thanks for the show guys. Hearing Dills and Scott’s voice together makes it personal sounding show and Turpster brings the English.
I loved the old format and I love the new format as well. I love to hear intelligent and informative people discussing WoW.
Thanks for bringing this show guys. Appreciate it. And the bumpers are fine. I agree with you, Scott. Change is good.
Of course it’s impossible not to miss the dulcet tones of Randy Deluxe, but to me this sounds like three likeable guys having fun talking about WoW. Dill brings the technical knowledge, and Turpster brings the humor. Better than I’d hoped for.
Very good guys. Thoroughly enjoyable show, will miss the old stuff, but this is a good change.
Loving the EU representation!!!
Bumpers are somewhat of a let down. I really like dills and Scott’s Chem, but Turpster is sooo annoying. He gets old real quick. I have to say if he sticks around i may have to drop The Instance. Scott and Dills would do just fine without the English guy stepping over them all the time
Zaxxor: While I appreciate your opinion, I am pretty sure you and I heard very different episodes. Did you really hear what you claim you heard, or did you approach this episode with some pre-defined anti-Turpster bias?
Not trying to call you out or anything, but what you describe simply didn’t happen on the show.
Turpster = ricky gervais
The show was great. I’ m looking forward to the next show. Keep up the great work guys.
Really enjoyed the show, Scott. Great work all around, Dills and Turpster are fantastic co-hosts.

I am happy with the new changes to the show. The new bumpers are a fresh and much needed update. I am very happy to have the 2 new hosts on the show as well. I think the 3 person conversation makes the show sound more dynamic and less “scripted”. I actually think the new cast is an improvement and I will be subscribing again even though I don’t play WoW much anymore. Even though I have been listening regularly since about episode 20, I kind of stopped listening to the show regularly around summer last year. (Nothing personal, but Randy’s tone and way of speaking reminded me too much of a teacher I had in high school that I hated. It wasn’t Randy’s fault, I just couldn’t keep listening to the show after a while because I would literally get edgy and irritated after Randy would make certain comments) Turpster and Dills have nice chemistry with Scott and luckily they don’t bring back any bad memories of high school.
I wish Randy well on his new job, and wish continued success to The Instance.
I thought the new format was awesome. Dills and Turpster are great additions, and while I miss Randy, I think the new format is solid, and Dills and The T provide a great counterbalance to Scott. I enjoyed the whole show, and while I missed Quickfire and Randy, I fully intend to keep listening and enjoying. (I always liked Turpster anyway – I like him on the Movielicious.)
Loved the new setup with Turpster and Dills! Long live the instance! You guys need intros and outros!
Great first show with the new line up. I really enjoyed it.
Great first show. Only half way through it, but between Dills talking about watching the hunter instead of paying attention to his tanking during end-game content and the self-reputation discussion, I was thoroughly enjoying it. Had to pause about halfway through it just to comment. If this is a promise of things to come, the show has evolved nicely.
Progressing toward Hated with faction: myself
-Jazz (yep, they suck these days
)
Alright!
i had a feeling as soon as i heard that randy was leaving that The T might be up for a stint on The Instance. i sure hope it lasts. i have been loving the chemistry developing between turpster and scott on hypothetical help, and i think between the two of them and dills, that they will find their stride quickly. first show was great and i can’t wait to hear what is coming down the pipes. i wasn’t a huge fan of most of the new bumpers, but that hardly has any bearing on why i listen to the podcast.
anyways, thanks for your work guys, and looking forward to next week!
Loved the show before and still do. Fun, up-tempo, informative…and the chemistry between the new hosts will only get better.
(Improve on Turps sound quality and the maiden show was near flawless!)
Miss Randy, but am very happy with the new experience.

Congratulations on the new hosts Scott. A very good episode indeed. Can I just post a little THANK YOU!!! for advertising the “Battleheart” app…
That app is the best thing since bacon!
Thank you and good luck with the show. See you next week
I can only say that even though I feel the loss of Randy on the show, that this episode was really solid and shows great promise for the future. The Instance is going to be just fine on its way forward. The new co-hosts are great, and Im looking forward to enjoying every episode forward as I have every episode behind. Great job.
It’s going to take some time for everybody to know their new role / find their new niche in the podcast. I don’t listen for the bumpers so people commenting on that need to remember the CONTENT of th show is what we all listen for. I think Turpster is a great addition as is Dills… but Dills… SPEAK UP. You are a great talent, and have plenty to say. Don’t get lost in the shuffle.
Miss Randy, but Dills and Turpster are going to be great. I stopped listening to wowinsider after mike and mark left but getting to hear Turpster again cracks me up.
I miss Randy … first time in many years that we haven’t heard his brusque voice saying “I’m fine Scott, thanks for asking.” I’ve got hope for the new show though; Turpster will obviously be popular (and hated) because he’s so recognizable from previous podcasts and blogs, but the real steal here is Dills. Level-headed, straight to the point, concise, informative, and ultimately very welcoming. He’s new to the show yet so utterly familiar to us all … he’s everyone’s GM or Raid Leader, the dependable guy who always gets the job done. Dills is the real revelation here; Scott and Turpster will do their thing obviously, but Dills will be what the show pivots on. I believe he was a tad nervous (and who wouldn’t be, honestly?!), but I expect most of us to take to Dills as quickly and loyally as we did with Randy.
Cheers, Dills!
Scott, great job on choosing new co-hosts. Dills is the accurate, informative, objective voice I’ve been hungering for going on about four months now. Don’t get me wrong, Randy had good points, but his presence on the show has been suffering since he went to Hawaii. I criticized heavily in past comments because I want the Instance to be great. (To use a tired phrase, Randy had been phoning it in for a long time and sucked up to Blizzard at any opportunity, even when they were wrong, ie “the Exalted” change.)
I can safely say I feel the show is in great hands now. I’ve loved Turpster since his days on the WoW Insider Show, but I need to send some love Dills’ way. The only feedback I can give is we need more. Scott and Turpster have some very strong presence, so we need Dills to turn it up to 11.
Great job guys.
The new format is great. This show was full of energy and it was a great listen. I recently came back to WoW after a few months off and felt pretty lost. Listening to this episode brought me back in and made me feel like I still had some dudes around who were welcoming me back (in an indirect way of course).
Great show. I love the new hosts.
Could somebody remind me what the name of that Mobile game they were talking about was called? it sounded really cool but I don’t wanna go scrolling back through the episode to find the name again and it doesn’t look like it’s in the show notes >.<
Thanks for a smooth and entertaining transition. Dills and the T already sound comfortable and the 3-host dynamic works perfectly. I’m with others that loved Randy, were sorry and apprehensive to see him go, but are thoroughly pleased with the new lineup. Looking forward to more!
