We know what the blizzcon pet is Murkablo! An ill omen streaks across the sky over Azeroth’s Great Sea, heralding the arrival of this year’s BlizzCon-exclusive World of Warcraft in-game companion: the fearsome-ish Murkablo, aquatic protégé of Diablo III’s eponymous Lord of Terror! Anyone who attends BlizzCon 2011 or purchases this year’s BlizzCon Virtual Ticket will receive a Murkablo to call their own, along with a yet-to-be-revealed StarCraft II in-game gift.

World of Warcraft Mobile Armory updated to version 3.1.0. The World of Warcraft Mobile Armory for iPhone was updated earlier today to version 3.1.0. The update adds improved mobile auction house functionality, visual tooltips in chat, additional guild features, and other general quality-of-life improvements to bring the mobile app up to par with Battle.net’s latest web interface and expected on-the-go functionality.

Can I transmogrify my legendaries? You will not be able to transmogrify using a legendary item as either the source or the recipient of a change. This system is going to launch with fairly conservative rules, so that we can get it up and running as soon as possible and make fun improvements down the road. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that we’ll eventually allow transmogrification to use the twill set or [insert your favorite item here], but probably not for the initial launch of the feature.

Blizzard ‘very, very serious’ about console Diablo 3. Blizzard is still playing coy about Diablo 3 on consoles, talking about the possibility without actually formally announcing anything. During a Gamescom press conference, lead designer Josh Mosqueira said Blizzard is “”very, very serious about bringing the Diablo 3 experience to the console. According to Eurogamer, he followed up by affirming that the company is “”trying to build the best console team at Blizzard”" with the express intent of working on Diablo. Last year, Blizzard said it was “exploring a Diablo-related concept.” Earlier this year, CEO Mike Morhaime said the company was “doing an investigation” into the idea of Diablo on consoles. Then in June, it posted a job listing for a “PlayStation 3 Specialist

Great show as always, but one more suggestion… when you go to frogpants . com, scroll down to the instance in the podcast dropdown menu, the webpage description still says that the show is written and produced by Randy Jordan.. :-( I love still seeing his name attatched to the show but its such a tease! Keep up the great work, love the heroic instance. HAIL AIE

  3. I would like to point out that the guy was talking about an early dungeon, and your bringing up rushing just to get Justice Points doesn’t apply. As he was the tank, I’m pretty sure he was learning how to tank and you can’t do that with everyone rushing ahead. If he started out by saying “hey I’m learning how to tank” and they still rushed through, then they were just douches. People forget that the game isn’t always about them.

  4. Hey guys – love the show but lately you are losing me with all the non-WoW talk. Felt like more than half this episode was about other games! :(

  8. I think the real problem with the “go, go, go!!!” mentality in lvl 15-80 instances is that, while they’ve made these instances significantly faster and easier, it encourages a devil-may-care attitude in people that severely hurts their skillset by the time they hit 80+ content. The tank-unfriendly social environment, and the ease of the lower dungeons causing a skill gap are responsible for the low number of people playing tanks. Tanks aren’t the only people hurt by this. DPS players never learn how to manage what they are doing to as to make the tank’s job easier. I find that this creates an odd blame structure wherein DPS never believe they are responsible for their deaths, let alone wipes, Tanks blame healers when they made an unhealable pull, and Healers become overconfident in their skills and lay blame on anyone but themselves.

Lower level dungeons should really have a higher difficulty curve so people learn all the skills as they level up, and have good habits by the time they hit higher level content so they don’t make heroic+ content agonizing to PUG.

  10. I always enjoy this podcast and will continue to listen for as long as you keep doing it. I think you guys dropped the ball just a little bit this week, though. There was a conversation about something that sounded like “Blizzard DOTA,” but no one explained what this was. The podcasters seemed to assume that all the listeners knew what “Blizzard DOTA” is. I’ve never even heard of this, so I wasn’t able to understand that part of the podcast.

  11. @ Greg

“There was a conversation about something that sounded like “Blizzard DOTA,” but no one explained what this was.”

Did you miss the part where Turpster said “DOTA was a mod for Warcraft 3″ ? They also talked about it and explained what it is in the previous episode.

  12. this is my first time hearing you guys and i gotta say im really impressed. this is great stuff and ill be listening as long as you guys are recording

  13. The “go go go”-attiude is making tanking really bad.

I am a tank, and I have one of each, yet – I sometimes loose the will to tank due to the fact that fully heirloom-stacked mages (mostly) feels like pulling – which makes it harder for everyone.

I’m currently levelling my 2nd druidbear and have macroed in a “please let me pull, healer would you please let people who pull _on purpose_ die so they learn before endgame not to pull, and I dont take manabreaks unless healer needs it so lets make it quick”.. normally people respect it or even applaud it. And if they actually let me pull and get aggro we can clear content in no time at all because if I get aggro and can gather the mobs they can AoE them down which is more or less impossible if a mage or hunter starts by getting aggro before I even reach the darn mob.

On my warrtank (also levelling) I have paired up with my wife who is the healer. For some reason she won’t heal anyone that I tell her not to heal ;)
