  1. Oh my god. I could only listen up until you started discussing the expansion. What is up with Turpster(sp)? Jesus! That guy was STARVING for the spotlight! What is he? Ten? He just would not shut up and let you get a word in when discussing the new expansion. Sorry. I love the show and normally I can tolerate him but it was very difficult to listen to the show in its entirety.

  4. i’ve tried to listen to the past few episodes and i cant get over this lingering feeling that you guys are either in blizzards pocket, or performing tricks for table scraps from the blizzard gods.

  5. @Frustrated

Its BlizzCon – give the guy (Turpster) a little bit of a break. The energy level in the room and at the Con is going to make anyone jump up and down with all that is going on.

Mmm I am thinking the menace has indeed pulled the milk hungry pups with the white cream rich white stuff dripping down their suckling little yappers away from their B—-’s teats. I enjoy the show too- but I oft do get the idea you are too positive on purpose in hopes of financial enhancement from blizzard or other benefits. The new talent system is a cookie cutter system. I liked the older post wraith system better. Also, why are you talking about gross porn references so much. I do not want to hear that!

  8. With the clear knowledge that I’m probably just feeding the Trolls, mon – haters gonna hate, but at least l2read, will ya?

Right up there at the top of every page: “The podcast for lovers of World of Warcraft!” Not “The podcast for critics of World of Warcraft!” nor “The podcast for People Who Want World of Warcraft! to Nvr Chgng 4evrz!!!111!”

Even if you ignore the BlizzCon Buzz effect, guess what? They like the game. They like the expansion plans. They like their friends, some of whom actually work for Blizzard. They like their guild, and their guildmates. Bitching because you expect some kind of in depth, unbiased critical analysis of Blizzard and it’s games (let along EVERYthing Blizzard does) makes you look pretty clueless.

They don’t hesitate to say it when they thing something is bad, or when somethingis different than they wish it was – but they are “lovers of World of Warcraft” – so listen with that firmly in mind or move along, because there’s nothing for you here.

  9. Well, great show guys. Thanks Scott for mentioning, many episodes ago, the podcast weekend confirmed. i love it! But the reason why i love it is the reason why im losing touch with The Instance, different opnions and pov. And Ive been a fan since the beginning even when I wasnt playing wow, like now. I love alot of things but that does NOT mean i can not be critical of them. I think MoP will be successful but there is room for debate about the changes. unfortunately ill have to look elsewhere for such intellectual conversation and debate unless Dills comes in with a different feeling than Scott and Turpster. time will tell

  10. I thoroughly enjoyed this informal episode. The interview at the end was especially insightful and was a cool look into the development process.

I was especially happy to hear a lot of Turpster. The dude is awesome. As for the negativity flying around the meta-World of Warcraft, well, Instance- and Blizzard-haters gonna hate. I don’t play WoW anymore, but I listen to the Instance because it’s entertaining, and because the hosts often have perspectives which are new to me or with which I disagree. There’s guaranteed to be a good discussion.

If the rumor is accurate that the art team is working on updates to the player character models, and if those updates ship with MoP, I’ll be buying the expansion, and maybe playing the game again will give me a different perspective. But probably not.

Oh, and the new talent system looks… Well, I don’t want to say “awful”, but not that great from the viewpoint of the current game. I’ll have to see how everything shakes out in the gameplay climate of MoP.
