That graphics macro had the opposite effect.. made my view distance shorter, and lowered the overall quality of graphics. Oh well.. was worth a try!
Does the EU client use meters instead of yards? Because maybe that’s why it makes ours look worse. Anyways, just add a few zeros to everything in Turpster’s macro and it will improve your settings. If it messes with your performance just tone it back until you find a place you like it.
I forgot to mention that Blizzard does set max levels on these settings so you can’t do some of the stuff Turpster mentioned on the show anymore, like seeing all of Kalimdor.
Not all items can be restored, just went on there, here is a quote from the faq, “Items that were recently sold, destroyed, or disenchanted can be restored through the web form. Items lost in any other way — including through trade, crafting, and use, among others — will not be eligible for restoration through the web form and must be reviewed by Customer Support”. I only had 14 items available for restoration, and the oldest date i had was 29th january 2012.
Turpster – as someone who has Zevra & 2-seeater, let me add to the temptations:

There are teases which talk about mounts going account wide. And a 2-seater flying mount could really help alts who are < 90 and not flying in Southrend/Pandaria. 2-Seaters are nice but 2-seater flying mounts in a world without HGWT & 85-89 flying are even nicer. And you can pick up chicks in Goldshire.

I have to agree with Zack, it had a negative effect as well for me. I normally have my settings at ultra and when I applied this macro, it really made things look worse. Reapplied ultra settings and everything looked much better. You should double check those settings.
After doing a little research online, I have come to the conclusion that most of these settings are obsolete, and no longer functional. Setting your video to Ultra produces the best overall settings, although groundEffectDensity and groundEffectDist can be further adjusted to produce a more dense texture and foliage. Best if you have some major hardware if you increase these though. They have an immediate impact on performance.
I copied/pasted the first half of that video macro into a macro, but when i click on it, it just comes out as chat text, doesn’t do anything to the video settings. Do you need to have it on Ultra for this to work?
Nice show- well too much on pets – but that is just me as I hate them- no real chat on a warrior at 90 on the beta- guess I need to find another show- umm I do hate pvp too- warriors are so lame on it now… on the bad- wow Tupster is giving the grats to some man who has got a bastard on his girlfriend. Nice wasteland.
Beta is capped at 88 at the moment, so it would be hard to talk about lvl 90 stuff yet. As to Turpster giving grats….Really? In a day and age where less then half of all long term couples even bother to get married, you have to make a comment like that? Welcome to the 21st century.
Item Restoration: Worthless for anyone that deleted items a long time ago, great for anyone that delete an item recently. Or DEd/sold an item accidental.
This makes me sad, i really would LOVE to undelete some of the really cool weapons that i deleted before cata to save bag space.
Same… I had the sunfury bow from prince in kara years ago… want to get it again but its a pain to solo farm kara for the last boss. Suddenly I thought YES! but no…. doesnt show up of course.
