I know this sounds cheesy, but the way I see this game continuing on past this expansion is incorporating a Sims style game play where you can get rewarded for playing a particular character for such a time that you can create a child that earns special abilities unique to him/her/it only- maybe a hybrid… This is just a stab in the dark- the idea just came to me now and it’s not formed by any means yet, but having a “life” within the game play earning special awards/ abilities/ unique quests could be cool- as long as it isn’t Sims style…ha.
Also, it is not in the near future that we can have a three dimensional type platform? Maybe one day, we can order a $200 kit and you play virtually in a pod and you physically participate as your character- I don’t know how this could happen, but like a virtual simulation as you see in star wars and the like.

I play ally at the moment but am not that fond of it, I mean its okay but Its not like playing horde where I felt like the under dog. So Wotlk is comming out and i decided to go Undead DK, but to do that I have to get a toon to 55. Now, I have a 40 human rogue and am really getting tired of Ally so what should I do? Start a new horde toon from level 1? or continue to 55 and then start a horde DK?

Just to start, love the show! I am very new (4 months) to the game and am enjoying it and the podcast. I got a few questions that I am sure that you can answer…
The first is that I have a lvl. 47 Undead Warlock on Smolderthorn. I love when everyone celebrates with the cool dances and I want to break out and dance with them. However when it is time to, the undead have the ugliest dance. Even the cows (Tauren) are cool when the get down. What are the chances that the dances can ever be changed?
The second is I am having a hard time tracking down how to find the chat room. I really wanted to be a part of the give-away and could not find a link. I found the stream, but could not find a chat room. Any help would be great!

I don’t know how so many people can like this podcast so much. Maybe it is Randy and they way he sounds on air, but the information in this podcast is so incorrect a surprisingly large amount of the time. And it is not just a “I don’t know for sure but I will say this” type of incorrect but a blatant “This IS how it is.” Incorrectness for the most part.
The quality is good, the hosts sound good but the info and the experience is way off in this show. I would recommend before saying “This is how it is.” Or “It will be like this.” Please make sure you know your information or just say that you don’t know for sure. There is nothing wrong with that. It, in my opinion, shows that you know more if you can just say that you don’t know for sure than to just flat out put out incorrect information.
Great editing, great quality just this is a few of my suggestions but I am nobody, just a listener.
Just tell her there’s no nudity, its just esrb being overprotective morons and putting “suggestive themes” because a female character starts dancing. If Barney was a girl dinosaur they would ban the purple suit outta her.
For the “Use of Violence”, just tell her there’s no blood or gore. Seen a film recently with violence eg “Dark Knight”? Just tell her that and if she still is skeptical, download the trial edition and let her play it. That should sort things out.
the show = awesome. love it. i use the zune program and listen to your new and old shows on my zune while being bored on my deployment to afghanistan. oh man i think i would go crazy if i didnt have something to listen to here in afghanistan. great news is that we got internet in our living quarters so i can now play WoW while on my down time. took about two full days just to download the patch that came out before the release of WotLK. it was worth it though. If you dont have Quest Helper, get it. Tom Tom is kinda useful as well. You will get more bang for your buck as your play time is limited. Worked for me on my 2nd 70, now 80. GL
The problem is not the game its the people that play, language etc.. My kid plays and shes 8. I just turn on the Mature Language filters in the interface menu and no more dirty words. Other than that if she lets you play Halo or COD, she should have no problem letting you try WOW. After your home work is done!
I’ve just started to listen to your show and like your style. Just wanted to let you know that there are most likely a lot of us newbies who are working our way slowly up the levels right now (considering the latest figures that’s a pretty good bet). I’m not what you’d call your average gamer I’m 42 with a young child, a nine to five job and a husband who occasionally demands my attention. So send some love to those of us who are still trying to get into a group to run the Deadmines for the first time or are trying to figure out how to level first aid past 150. My latest triumph was making enough gold to train and purchase a mount, my main is a gnome mage so it’s a chicken but hey one day I will grind enough rep to get one of those Ironforge Rams then I will really break out the bubbly.

I was just wondering if you could talk some about recording in your show – what diffrent programs there is and such. Myself i use a certain program wich gives me a very poor quality – perhaps you could take up if ya can improve your quality with a certain program and in that case, wich one is it. I think alot of people would love the topic.
The Instance makes my drive to and from work way more enjoyable – I don’t even mind being stuck on the highway anymore! I have a question for you: our guild is thinking of making a podcast too – how did the Instance get started? Who had the idea and how did you get the ball rolling?

just got done with a crazy week in the hospital with spinal meningitus(spelling)
came upon me crazy fast saturday night and I have no memory of sunday through wednesday.
Im glad to be able to get back home and listen to another great episode and have a good laugh too.
I look forward to getting another game card and finishing lvling my lvl 72 space goat pally finally to 80 but having had a siezure makes going back to the game kindof scary.
After playing for an hour or so we all start feeling a little wacked.
But I can atest to all that I will not drink 32 oz monsters again guys, they are deadly.
I haven’t played for a couple of months now and I accept all luck in getting back into the game.

My main is a an Alliance Lock on Zul’Jin named Aremis and I enjoy PVP but to whine a little it looks like everyone has protection against Fear. Poor little Warlocks once we are within Arms range of any melee they eat us alive. sniffle sniffle do you think Blizzard will ever show the lock some love and help us with this terrible oversight?

Snickersnee here and i have been testing the ptr a little and I dont agree the way blizzard is giving away emblems of conquest. They are dropping from Heroics and naxx. Both of them are just way to easy to give ilvl 226 gear. i understand that people don’t have the time to do ulduar but they still want to get better gear. So why don’t they just make them both hard again. Like heroics are all harder and have higher difficulty levels. like Normal (easy), Heroics (normal), and Hardcore (Hard). I believe if they content was harder it would make it would make getting the high level gear more rewarding and it could also only take a hour and if you are progressing though are hardcore difficulty you could make it go on a 3 day reset. I learned to thinks while playing WoW, If everyone is special then no one is special and You don’t Reward Bad behavior/at your class. with blizz just giving conquest badges for nothing is not right well i hope you read this on the show sorry for the wall of text.

Im a new listener and im in love with the podcast but anywho. Ive been looking for a new gaming rig since my hp laptop blows. Ive been living with 30 fps looking up at the sky since lvl 40 pre wotlk. im lvl 80 now. Raiding is a pain and wintergrasp is impossible. I looked at doghouse systems and am wondering if i would be very happy with the lower level armor desktop.

Love the show and have been catching up on older episodes and listened to #130 today. What was interesting was the segment on torture, my Hunter had just finished that quest in the Borean tundra. Well in the game so far I have felt some of the actions required were questionable but not out of touch with heroic fantasy, However when I got this quest I did feel like I had crossed the line. I think the main thing that got me was the guy who gives you the torture device tells you it is extremely painful and he and his order find torture distasteful. I was like “WTF”, you’re to good for this so you want me “Mr. I’ll do anything for XP. to do it for you?” If I was able to finish the quest line without doing the torture I would have.
Anyway, fantastic show guys, I often listen to each episode more then once.

During the discussion it was mentioned and I want to say Ghostcrawler said it but I could be wrong. But it was said by the next Blizzcon the alliance will hate Goblins. Just wanted to share this tidbit.

I believe this is where the OBEY originally came from. Shepard Fairey, the artist that is probably more recently known for the Obama three colored illustration “Hope” that has been duplicated and reproduced, first got his popularity making stickers and posters of an illustration called OBEY GIANT. The trouble with the Iphone authenticator can be averted simple by reading the update and following the directions instead of blindly hitting “update all” on your Iphone. The update tells you to log into your battle net account and disable the authenticator. Then update the authenticator ap on the iphone and finally go back to the battle net account and turn the authenticator back on.

Synnsaer (sin-sayer) from Earthen Ring. My Healadin did a massive run through on the first weekend after patch 3.3 in the random dungeons. there were 2 reasons for this, first was to get Emblems to get gear to help my raiding guild. Second was for the pug pet.
Now the point, I was in a 5 man random which was the Pit. After the tank failed to protect me and I died (the only one in the party), I set about getting back to the group, once I arrived I realized no one had bothered to heal themselves, this made me feel a bit used. I asked the tank to go a bit slower because I was having trouble keeping up with the heals and mana. The name calling ensued from one of the players, I told him that it was just a requst to slow a bit, more name calling…so I told him to apologize or i would not heal him anymore. They went into the next attack and I did not heal the one guy, he then stopped DPS and said he would not do any more DPS until I healed him. I finished the instance giving up on the argument and healed the guy.
Now the point, and this is really the meat of it, I got tossed out of my guild because of this, the GM of the guys guild complained to my GM and he said that I was maybe not a good fit for the guild. After 2 days of constant dungeons to get proper gear for ICC 10 man stuff, spending 2000 gold on gems etc… and over one case of sword comparing (nudge nudge) I get tossed, how is this fair?

hey guys im a british guy that listens to your show love it by the way! and in episode 174 I heard someone wanted an addon for completing the loremaster achievement, i would recommend carbonite for this.
It is a lightwieght questhelper and has some some other features that can be very useful. you can email if your stuck with any features
i dont know if ive wrote this in the right section as i am new to the site
it would be entirely futile to try and balance around the encounters and encourages some unrealistic expectations.
taking festergut as an example, ranged move, melee don’t but ranged are doing an important job out there by keeping the AoE disorient from hitting the melee.
on saurfang, ranged take out the beasts allowing melee to go all out.
regarding ony, rogues do amazingly on DPS due to the whelps but, taking your example, killing the whelps doesn’t end the encounter. the mage in your example gets everyone the purples they want ^_^
i think that blizzard probably DOES intend to balance encounters to not favour melee/ranged without giving the other a reason to be there because that kind of encounter leads to (in my opinion foolish) raid leaders stacking their raids. i do not think they intend every fight to have equal opportunities for all classes.

My main is a an Alliance Lock on Zul’Jin named Aremis and I enjoy PVP but to whine a little it looks like everyone has protection against Fear. Poor little Warlocks once we are within Arms range of any melee they eat us alive. sniffle sniffle do you think Blizzard will ever show the lock some love and help us with this terrible oversight?

Snickersnee here and i have been testing the ptr a little and I dont agree the way blizzard is giving away emblems of conquest. They are dropping from Heroics and naxx. Both of them are just way to easy to give ilvl 226 gear. i understand that people don’t have the time to do ulduar but they still want to get better gear. So why don’t they just make them both hard again. Like heroics are all harder and have higher difficulty levels. like Normal (easy), Heroics (normal), and Hardcore (Hard). I believe if they content was harder it would make it would make getting the high level gear more rewarding and it could also only take a hour and if you are progressing though are hardcore difficulty you could make it go on a 3 day reset. I learned to thinks while playing WoW, If everyone is special then no one is special and You don’t Reward Bad behavior/at your class. with blizz just giving conquest badges for nothing is not right well i hope you read this on the show sorry for the wall of text.

Im a new listener and im in love with the podcast but anywho. Ive been looking for a new gaming rig since my hp laptop blows. Ive been living with 30 fps looking up at the sky since lvl 40 pre wotlk. im lvl 80 now. Raiding is a pain and wintergrasp is impossible. I looked at doghouse systems and am wondering if i would be very happy with the lower level armor desktop.

Love the show and have been catching up on older episodes and listened to #130 today. What was interesting was the segment on torture, my Hunter had just finished that quest in the Borean tundra. Well in the game so far I have felt some of the actions required were questionable but not out of touch with heroic fantasy, However when I got this quest I did feel like I had crossed the line. I think the main thing that got me was the guy who gives you the torture device tells you it is extremely painful and he and his order find torture distasteful. I was like “WTF”, you’re to good for this so you want me “Mr. I’ll do anything for XP. to do it for you?” If I was able to finish the quest line without doing the torture I would have.
Anyway, fantastic show guys, I often listen to each episode more then once.

I wanted to mention I was at Blizzcon and I have not heard anyone mention a comment about the new Goblin race that hints at a Cataclysm release date. During the discussion it was mentioned and I want to say Ghostcrawler said it but I could be wrong. But it was said by the next Blizzcon the alliance will hate Goblins. Just wanted to share this tidbit.

I believe this is where the OBEY originally came from. Shepard Fairey, the artist that is probably more recently known for the Obama three colored illustration “Hope” that has been duplicated and reproduced, first got his popularity making stickers and posters of an illustration called OBEY GIANT. It is basically a simplified version of Andre the Giant’s face. I think the actual line OBEY is from a movie with Roddy Piper called They Live. I love your show guys, thanks.

The trouble with the Iphone authenticator can be averted simple by reading the update and following the directions instead of blindly hitting “update all” on your Iphone. The update tells you to log into your battle net account and disable the authenticator. Then update the authenticator ap on the iphone and finally go back to the battle net account and turn the authenticator back on.

Synnsaer (sin-sayer) from Earthen Ring. My Healadin did a massive run through on the first weekend after patch 3.3 in the random dungeons. there were 2 reasons for this, first was to get Emblems to get gear to help my raiding guild. Second was for the pug pet.
Now the point, I was in a 5 man random which was the Pit. After the tank failed to protect me and I died (the only one in the party), I set about getting back to the group, once I arrived I realized no one had bothered to heal themselves, this made me feel a bit used. I asked the tank to go a bit slower because I was having trouble keeping up with the heals and mana. The name calling ensued from one of the players, I told him that it was just a requst to slow a bit, more name calling…so I told him to apologize or i would not heal him anymore. They went into the next attack and I did not heal the one guy, he then stopped DPS and said he would not do any more DPS until I healed him. I finished the instance giving up on the argument and healed the guy.
Now the point, and this is really the meat of it, I got tossed out of my guild because of this, the GM of the guys guild complained to my GM and he said that I was maybe not a good fit for the guild. After 2 days of constant dungeons to get proper gear for ICC 10 man stuff, spending 2000 gold on gems etc… and over one case of sword comparing (nudge nudge) I get tossed, how is this fair?

just listened to most of ep175 and have to register a strong opposition to randy’s assertion that blizzard wants to balance classes around encounters.
i particularly disagree that blizz wants every fight to have a straight line down the damage charts.

it would be entirely futile to try and balance around the encounters and encourages some unrealistic expectations.
taking festergut as an example, ranged move, melee don’t but ranged are doing an important job out there by keeping the AoE disorient from hitting the melee.
on saurfang, ranged take out the beasts allowing melee to go all out.
regarding ony, rogues do amazingly on DPS due to the whelps but, taking your example, killing the whelps doesn’t end the encounter. the mage in your example gets everyone the purples they want ^_^
i think that blizzard probably DOES intend to balance encounters to not favour melee/ranged without giving the other a reason to be there because that kind of encounter leads to (in my opinion foolish) raid leaders stacking their raids. i do not think they intend every fight to have equal opportunities for all classes.
