The Instance #191 – The Ruby Sanctum Has No Eye

Big News Of The Week

WoW Is Back On Deck

Blizzard’s spin-off company Cryptozoic released their first set in the WoW Trading Card Game this week, and it’s called Wrathgate.  You can read all about it in three parts here, here and here.

Rumors And Scuttlebutt

It’s The Eve Of Ruby Sanctum

Public Test Realm testers have been looking at the quickly forthcoming Ruby Sanctum patch to World Of Warcraft. The Ruby Sanctum is the gathering place for the red dragonflight, and it’s about to be attacked by the black dragonflight in their nefarious plot to enable Deathwing’s return.

Town Cryer

Andy from London writes: Do you guys think that Blizzard should really change the DK starting level to 65? The DK starting zone was amazingly fun with lots of set-pieces and backstory to explain how you became free of the Lich King. However there is a big sense of disconnect from this story when you step into Outland to fight Illidan, which makes absolutely no sense for a Death Knight to do. Wouldn’t it be better to finish the DK starting area at level 68 instead of level 58?

Cataclysmic Drop Of The Week

Round Round Get Around, You Get Around

This is the fourth in our limited series, where we’re highlighting things for you to do in WoW that you might not ever get to do again after the Cataclysm.

  1. I really like the idea for the DK starting zone to start at 65. Hopefully they will do it but I doubt it as well.

Ps. I love th show guys. Keep it coming.

  2. Listening for a long while to all your different podcast. Scott and Randy are doing an amazing job at the show and i look forward to many more.

  3. Thanks for some of the first details on Ruby Sanctum! I’d be curious to know if you guys get the feeling that this will be a minor event that keeps the constant raiders happy and re-upping or if they’re fleshing it out enough to revitalize a larger number of players. I know the ICC hard modes are still out there to challenge guilds like mine that haven’t downed them but we’ve been feeling like we’re already in that doldrums period between expansions where you level alts or let your account expire. Love the show and I gave you 5 stars on iTunes a while back! Can I rate you twice if I wait long enough?

  4. Great show this week, just listened to it last night. I also heard there might be some AWESOME jewelry to be had. I am crossing my fingers that I will get picked! :)

  5. Another great show, for the record I’ve tried really hard to hide my accent in my typing….I think it’s really paying off!

  6. I just wanted to let you know that you cannot use the armory AH and be logged into the game at the same time. Thank You

  7. Piacenza, you are correct! The link you posted is the lnk to my website, Down to the Wire. :) The link is also in the show notes above near the end ( under sponsers).

I think the mix-up with my last name happens because ‘Cochrane’ is my maiden name and was attached to all my e-mails to Scott. :)

  8. Just finished listening to the podcast and popped online to check out the jewelry. Love it! Placing an order tonight!

Btw, our guild is definately feeling the ICC burnout. A few of our regular raiders have already stated that they want to take a sabatical from raiding as soon as LK dies on 25-man.

  9. Great show this week, never ceased to keep me interested. You REALLY piked my interest at the mention of jewelry! Keep the great shows coming!

  10. Great show as always guys! Its amazing how much I learn without realizing it listening to your show. The fact that you don’t take yourselves too seriously helps alot too.

  16. Hey guys just finished the latest episode great stuff keep it up…….
as well i think it was great i made a character on Earthen Ring and sent Scott a message and it just made my week that he responded and had a mini convo with me =]

  17. Totally enjoy the show. I just recently got back into WOW and I am playing a DK. Soon as I hit 80 I am hitting up mining and my explorer achievement. It’s going to be a huge undertaking to get it done before the xpax, but wish me luck ^_^

  18. So I was just re-listening to this last show, and I noticed when Scott and Randy were talking about Randy’s lack of southern accent Randy actually said a word with it! It made me giggle. If you didn’t notice it was the word “means” (in the sentance “what that means…”). I only notice because my best friend grew up with a southern accent and changed it, but you can get him stuck in it if you talk with one around him for a couple minuets. Just something amusing. :p

  20. Hey guys great show. Liking the Cataclysmic drops of the week. Explorer, no. Mount farming-maybe. Thanks for the free entertainment week after week.

  21. Randy, I know what you mean about getting rid of an accent, except mine practically went away on its own! However, when I visit family during the holidays I tend to slip back into it. I avoid answering cell phone calls from friends during these vacations because they have repeatedly tried to catch me with an accent. I refuse to let them win!

Awesome show, you guys. Simply amazing.

  22. Where are the links to that Jewellery Scott?

    Another great show =)

I thought you glossed over the guy with the AVR call. I don’t have an opinion on AVR either way myself. However he did bring up some valid points and you didn’t do them justice imho.

    Garygygax, dwarf hunter, nagrand oceanic.

  23. If you guys read these, I noticed it in the last episodes comments, but then heard it again in this episode. On the mobile AH you can’t log into it on the realm you are online with. So you can’t be in a raid and pull up the mobile ah and buy consumables then pull out the mobile mailbox and ge tthem. You would have to log out… but really that just adds 30 or so seconds to the process.

Anyway, great show as always and hear ya next week.

  24. Love the show, my husband is a long time listener and he recently shared your podcast with me. I thought at first that listening to two guys talking about WoW would be dumb but you two are hilarious. I especially love your Cataclysmic drop of the week. It’s like homework I want to do!

  25. Love the show, fills my wow need during the days at work. I have been playing for less than a year. I feel ICC burnout. basically i get burned out of anything that continues for a couple hours, especially if it is a wipe feast with no progression. i want to kill the lich king, but i am not willing to plug away everynight for hours to get there. i will get there when i get there. As for the raid buff, currently at 20% i think. I believe their should be an achievement/feat of strength for beating lich king with no buffs. downing the lich king with no buff is more impressive than at 20-30% buff and it should be commended.

  26. I started wow as alliance. I started new toons on Earthern Ring recently because of Scott and Randy. I see the AIE guild all over the place, but i haven’t asked to join yet. Is it just me or is the Horde more mature in general than alliance? Bgs seem to be full of teamwork, trade is mostly trade and people in general seem nicer than what i saw as an alliance

  27. Great show as always. The mash-up at the end was the best you all have ever had. It was so good that I forgot it was the mash-up and was thinking you two had finally lost it. Keep up the great work.

  28. Hey guys, fantastic podcast. Work used to be boring till i stumbled upon the frogpants studios! take it easy guys!

ps- Any chance of hearing from DingPong again?
