Character transfers are a thing today, LFG is key, the current and future of the tools, tab targeting gets some new twists, what’s a Kurtob, dailis, slash ironfist, phasing and how it works now, and turns out you CAN get your authenticator fixed quickly should you change phones.

Well, the RP server consolidation just got a big ol’ kick in the daddy-bag! All East Coast RP servers consolidated onto Ebon Hawk! I’m going to miss Shien, but WOW will the population on the Hawk be ROCKIN’ tonight!
Always love to hear you guys! Easily my favorite of all the SWTOR podcasts; just don’t make me choose between the editions of The Instance!!
I’m with you on the transfer issue for the most part. I’m not gonna quit just b/c I don’t get my name, but here’s my tiny drop of gripe in the Sea of QQ:
My guild was pre-formed and dumped onto my server. I had no choice about that. If I decided to go re-roll on another server, then I fully accept that I take the chance of not getting the name I want. But NOW I once again have no choice in where I go–technically I have the choice of staying on the server but really, who’s going to do that?–only THIS time I also have the disadvantage of not getting my name.
I can only hope that my name is being used by someone and not someone who unsubbed or is a name-squatter “for that alt I may play in two years”. I can also hope that at some point Bioware will let us try name changes for a fee, like Blizzard does. I like the idea of a surname in addition to the main/first name and legacy name.
Enjoying the show, hope you go back to a weekly turnaround; I needs my fix!
My guild and I moved servers (From Vrook Lamar to Begeren Colony, both are West Coast RP-PVE servers.) it was very smooth and quick transition with no problems at all. A few of the names had to be changed, but other than that it was a very easy move. The high population numbers and quick queues made it worth while.
I think BioWare did a good job on this one
We moved last night, and our experiences were similar; a few individuals (including myself) had odd errors, but we put in tickets. To see my guildies laughing in amazement at the people, the low queue times made me so happy! Squee was in the air, for sure. : )
I was even able to get some names that I wasn’t able to get on my old server. Got paperwork on our forums to do, and have to contact Customer Support re: the bank, but overall, pretty smooth.
For the record, There were was 2 Highlanders named McLeod. The movie was Connor and The TV show was Duncan. They were cousins and were about 150 years apart. The were both on the TV show. I don’t remember which episode off hand.
I lost my legacy name, but it was well worth the pvp queue time being reduced to almost nothing.
You’re both wrong – it’s clearly Darth Vader as the most quotable character, mostly because his quotes have every day applications.
I work in software development, and don’t remember the last meeting I left that didn’t end with “I do not share your optimistic appraisal of the situation.”
