The note on origin crap… I’m not 100% but its possible every time you sign on to an EA game, its probably using origins to sign in. For SW:TOR I had to create an origins account just to play. I played dragon age:legends on facebook a long time ago, and had to use my origins account also. Same with all my console games. EA buffs its numbers that way I believe. Thus 20 million users.
Origin is not and has never been required for SWTOR. Your SWTOR account doubles as your Origin account if you don’t have it downloaded or tied in at all; thus, if you need to log in for Origin, just use your SWTOR account information. Origin has never been required to play SWTOR. Ever.
Excellent I’ll finally get to to play the storyline : )))). I’ve wanted to experience the story since they first announced it as I loved KOTOR I and II but simply didnt have the money and perhaps wasnt interested in the MMO aspect of it all. This makes me-me-me-me-meh Happay !
On a snaky side note, WoW-Killer eh…..
well the idea of a WOW Killer is really up to you. some felt that rift was a wow killer and it was for some folks. L.O.L. is a wow killer for some as well.
the definition of a “Wow Killer” is really what ever you feel is better then Warcraft that
makes you want to play that game over world of Warcraft.
as for me regardless of this f2p with tor ….TOR was ” MY WOW KILLER”
whats yours?
The only thing Tor did for me was make me appreciate Blizzard and wow more.
Odd. Had the exact opposite effect for me.
I am still convinced that the fact that this massive project rolled out without an LFG tool, an in-game combat log, or any kind of community modding helped land it in the situation it finds itself in now. I think it was enough of a WoW clone to keep bored WoW players interested for awhile, but those little things that WoW has that this game still doesn’t didn’t help it’s chances. It’s kind of like buying a brand new car and finding out it doesn’t have power windows or a radio. The industry moves fast, and with mmo’s WoW usually leads the way (like it or not), and players are easily spoiled.
I also think it’s ironic that the most hyped feature pre-release, an unprecedented amount of voice work, is the thing that I relentlessly spacebar through whenever I can.
I couldn’t be happier about this news. I have precious little time these days, but didn’t want to give up on TOR (but was about too). But if I stopped playing I’d probably never go back. Free to Play lets me keep my interest in the game with a very occasional login, until either I find the time (or the game compels me) to commit – in which case I will happily become a paying subscriber again!
Great news!
I play TOR and have just recently begun looking for podcasts to listen to, so my guildy directed me here. I’ve listened to a few past shows now, but this one seems like it’s never on and when it is on the hosts sound like they’re doing the show with a gun at their heads while they’re afk from WoW or something… can anyone recommend some other TOR podcasts??
Scott and Dills do a podcast every two weeks (owing to the slower news cycle for TOR). If you want more, check out the guys and gals at TORWars, TOR-Talk, Corellian Run Radio, Mos Eisley Radio (though they may now be defunct), Sunny’s Diner (on the TORWars podcast network), or The Cantina Band. There are plenty of options! Plus Senor Scott and Willy-Dills Gregory are on every other week!
No new show again? Does the current climate not qualify as newsworthy for you guys? This podcast is horrible.
There’s the exit door. –>
They already said they’re not posting a show every week.
